Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 – 11:15am // Agora
Living at Home Summit

About this workshop :

One-third of elderly individuals experience at least one fall at home each year. Falls are the 7th leading cause of death among individuals aged 65 and older in the United States and the leading cause of mortality for seniors over 65 in France.

The consequences of falls are numerous and varied : traumatic and psychological effects (fear of recurrence) as well as social consequences (reduced activities, withdrawal).

In the face of this issue, solutions exist and deserve more widespread implementation. Various international specialists in home care are invited to exchange ideas during this workshop, covering aspects of prevention, detection, and even prediction of falls. The future of telecare will certainly be discussed, along with home modifications to minimize risks and data analysis for a predictive approach.

This workshop is part of the planned program for the SilverEco & Ageing Well International Festival 2024 // Living at Home Summit
