[Workshop] Personal Services Professions : Attractiveness of professions for the elderly and a one-stop-shop approach for Departmental public service for independent living

Monday, September 16th, 2024 – 10:45am // Agora
Living at Home Summit

About this workshop :

There are several home support services for the elderly: SAADs (home help and support services), SSIADs (home nursing services) and SPASADs (services offering both home help and nursing care).

Our panel of experts will explore one of the most pressing issues of our time: improving the attractiveness of jobs in the personal services sector and care for the elderly in the home, in order to respond to the urgent need for jobs that are in short supply and to help raise the profile of careers in old age, a crucial area for improving the quality of life for the elderly at home.

Since the decree of 13 July 2023, home autonomy services have been created to replace the existing SAADs, SSIADs and SPASADs.

Their missions :

  • Organise support at home by helping with daily activities and tasks,
  • Respond to the need for regular nursing care
  • Play a preventive and support role for carers of the elderly and people with disabilities (raising awareness of good treatment, combating abuse).

This workshop will bring together experts from the personal services sector and healthcare professionals to share their views on the ongoing transition to independent homecare services, and to discuss the future of these services in the context of the complex chain of players involved in homecare, who will play a key role in ensuring a successful demographic transition.

This workshop is part of the planned program for the SilverEco Well-Aging Festival 2024 // Living at Home Summit
