The SilverEco Festival, the global event focused on demographic transition that brings together all the key players in ageing well, is delighted to have hosted France’s first House DragSeniors during Silver Night 2024, the iconic evening dedicated to the SilverEco Awards ceremony.
As it has done for the past 16 years, the traditional SilverEco Awards ceremony kicked off with its signature “surprise opening,” staying true to its DNA: Changing perspectives and Breaking established norms.
The 2024 gala evening began with a performance by six members of We Are Audragcieuxes, the first House DragSeniors. It was a powerful and emotional moment, symbolizing the breaking of barriers and prejudices. Other performances followed throughout the ceremony, continuing into the cocktail reception that traditionally closes SilverNight.
We Are Audragcieuxes : France’s first House DragSeniors
The association “Les Audacieuses and the Audacieux” initiated the “We Are Audragcieuxes” project, France’s first House DragSeniors. This unique collective brought together LGBTQIA+ seniors in an artistic and festive setting, promoting inclusion and combating age-related stereotypes. The collective was awarded a Jury’s Special Mention prize by the Festival organizers.
An ode to inclusion and diversity
We were delighted to welcome France’s first House DragSeniors and to see the warm welcome it received from industry professionals. Their participation perfectly symbolizes the spirit of the SilverEco Festival: promoting social innovation, inclusion and celebrating diversity at every age.
It’s a real source of pride to be able to offer a platform to such inspiring initiatives, and to help change the way society looks at seniors. Thank you to We Are Audragcieuxes for accepting our invitation. “Change your mind”, ‘Make sens’ and even ‘a touch of madness’ have long been part of the Festival’s DNA, in 2024 thanks to you we’ve added ‘Audragcieuxes’!
