The Global Alliance for the rights of older people (GAROP) recently trained 17 older activists in countries in Africa and Asia to increase political support for a convention on the rights of older people.
Older activists are ready to go!
The programme was organised in Rwanda in November 2018. It involved nine older women and seven older men from ten countries across Africa and Asia.
The purpose of such training was to nurture a movement driven by older activists who campaign for rights in older age, and challenge ageism and age discrimination.
