Jim Arrington: the oldest male bodybuilder
Jim Arrington, who was born in 1932, explains that his fitness journey didn’t begin with him having a natural talent for weightlifting. On the contrary he has been working hard his whole life, and just never stopped.
One day, inspired by bodybuilding magazines he’d read, he ordered a 25-cent booklet full of exercises. Initially, he did it just to impress the ladies. “I decided that I was interested in girls around this time, and working out would be helpful in that department!” he explained.
Since then, Jim Arrington has competed in over 60 competitions in his lifetime, winning 16. At 83, he is still actively competing in competitions and he entered the Guinness World Records 2018 edition as the world’s oldest male bodybuilder.
