Spain’s entire population is expected to fall by 5.6 million (12.1%) in the next 50 years.
In Spain the population is predicated to fall by 1.022.852 people (2.2%) in 2024, and by 5.6 million persons (12.1%) in 2064.
According to this data, the total Spanish population will fall to 40.9 millions people in 2064, compared to 46.5 million people in 2014.
This decrease is partly due to fertility decline and the rise of life expectancy. In fact, 34.5% of Spain’s population will be 65 and over in 2064.
