L’AFFM fait la promotion de la pratique du Walking Football en France, sport venu d’Angleterre à très fort impact social, permettant aux seniors (+50 ans) de pratiquer le football en toute sécurité.
Inventé en 2011 en Angleterre, le walking football est conçu en priorité pour les seniors. Il se joue sur petit terrain, à 6 contre 6 (un gardien et 5 joueurs de champ), avec un ballon de foot normal, des cages de 2m sur 4m et se différencie du football avec 3 règles :
– pas de course (toujours un pied au sol)
– pas de contact (tacles ou coups d’épaule interdits)
– pas de balle haute
Ainsi, tout est fait pour limiter un engagement physique trop important, pouvant provoquer des blessures. Mais l’activité reste très tonique (marche rapide) et l’aspect ludique, collectif et convivial du foot est préservé.
